Ebay Bridesmaid Auction Ends

I first heard about this auction the other day.   I have seen some crazy things on ebay but this one takes the cake.  Makes me wonder how long the marriage will last when someone auctions off a spot as a bridesmaid.  Don't get me wrong I am happy for the couple but would be a bit leary about being a bridesmaid in someones wedding that I do not know who they are.  Maybe I am just a traditional girl and would want the attendants in my wedding to be close family and or friends.  I wish the bride, groom and and the lucky winner of the auction the best of luck in their journey.

Angelina Jolie gives Birth to Twins

As I was reading the entertainment news earlier today I saw that Angelina has had twins.  Congratulations to Angelina on Brad on the birth of their children.  Of course after I posted this I learned it was unconfirmed.

Celebrities who did not Get the Part

I just read this article over at Glamorati. Most of the time It is hard to imagine some of your favorite movies with different actors.  Then some Movies you think well what if so  and so was in this movie.  Most of the movies on the list here I have seen. Nicolas Cage was turned down for the role of John Bender in Breakfast Club. My thoughts on that one. That could have worked. I have nothing against Judd Nelson but, Nicolas would have made it interesting in my opinion. Another one that i think could have worked. Johnny Depp lost the role of Johnny Blaze to Nicolas Cage.  Again I have nothing against either Actor but, I think that Johnny Depp  could have given a different edge to the Character. These are just a few of the Actors on the list that lost out to other Big Names.

Way to go George

I must say that it surprises me that George would  do this.  With that said  I applaud him for standing up in what he believes in.  I have not seen the film but, I have seen the trailer that was released.  He should be credited for his work in this film.  It is a shame that someone can work hard on something and not get credit for it.

It's a Girl for Giada De Laurentiis

I was surprised when I heard the news back in November that Giada was expecting. I have been a fan of her show for years on food network. I had not seen her show in a while so when I saw her on the Today Show when she made the announcement that is what took me by surprise. Congratulations to you and your husband Giada.

NBC Announces Year Round TV Schedule

I think that this is a good thing for TV.  Most of the time I watch shows that I have recorded on my DVR.   Ocassionally I will watch the show as it is airing.  I like the fact that  FOX does this somewhat with their shows like airing 24 all together with hardly any interruptions in the season.  I do not know why the networks did not adopt this before now.

Richie Sambora Caught Driving Drunk

I have always enjoyed Bon Jovi's music but, I was really saddened to hear that this had happened . I hope he gets his act together and straightens up.  I just do not see that there is an excuse to drive drunk with your children in the car much less anybody else.  If he was too drunk to drive maybe he should have made other arrangements to get his daughter home and himself home.

24 Will Wet our appetites this fall

It will be kind of prequel of sorts to bridge the gap between the long wait between seasons.  I think that this is a good thing actually since most 24 fans I know are restless to see what is going to happen.  We wait from may when the season ends and then when the show is set to come back in January the writers are in the middle of a strike.  Anyway, I am glad that we will get a taste of what the new season will have to hold.  I for one am looking forward to its return.

Patrick Swayze near death

  I just read this over at Mamapop.   Anyway, after searching the news about Patrick I also found this link to fox news.   I really have no words to say except for that I am hoping for a miracle for Patrick and his wife.  I have been a fan of his since he was in The Outsiders.   I have been and will continue to be a fan of Patrick's for years to come.  He is a very talented man and I wish him and his family the best.

Supernatural Gets a 4th Season

I am so glad that CW decided to renew this show again.  It has been one of my favorites since it began.  I started watching about midway through the first season.   It had a slow start but, I think has gotten better with time. I know I will be tuning in when new episodes come on.

Billy Ray Cyrus to Host Nashville Star

  I know this show is a country version of American Idol but they are nicer when they tell the contestant that he or she was awful or horrible.  Anyway, I have watched since the 2nd season and now it is going to be on NBC instead of USA Network much to the chagrin of my husband.  He will be none to happy that  I will be setting the replay to tape it especially now that I know Mr Achy Breaky himself will be hosting the new season.

New Album By Sarah Brightman

My husband just informed me that Sarah Brightman has a new album out.  It is called Symphony.



We saw her 4 years ago in concert. If you have not heard of her then you should check her out. She is well known for playing the Original Christine in Phantom of the opera. I guess we will be purchasing her new album. She has an incredible voice and range. I highly recommend that you check her out.

Writers Strike Update

 I cannot beleive that they have finally come to a tentative agreement.   Yes I am happy about this.  Now maybe we can salvage what is left of the TV season and also bring on season 7 of 24.  I have been waiting patiently since the season ended last May.   Bring back real TV.  I am so far over all this reality tv and game shows it is not even funny.

Writers Strike Over According to Eisner

I am hoping that this story is right on the Money. They have said before that it is near being over but this weekend should be the deciding factor. I say if you are happy with what is offered why wait till Saturday to have the meeting? Why not call one as soon as you know that there is something worth offering to the writers? Anyway, I am just glad that it is over or will be soon.

Writers Strike

I know that they want to get a fair deal out of this strike but, the length of this thing is getting to be ridiculous in my opinion. They have been talking informally over the last week which is a good sign of things to come. Now they are saying that there will be no settlement until early next week. Why are they waiting till Saturday to present the proposed new deal I for one am getting tired of wondering when there will be new episodes or if there will be new shows at all this season. Some shows we have not even seen at all this season like 24.

An end to the Writers Strike Maybe

This is news to my ears. My husband told me about this last night but, i had not heard anything till I read this earlier today. I have been saying that I hoped it would end soon. Hopefully we will here something concrete this week.

Nightmare Again

This should be interesting. It was the Scream Franchise of its time. It is hard to believe that 24 years after the original came out that they are going to pick the series up again. I do not find that to be a bad thing as I enjoyed the movie however, I did not follow the franchise through all 8 films. I think a good twist on the film would be to bring back a character from the Original Film to play Freddy. How about Johnny Depp as Freddy?

New Episode of House

Last night I was looking forward to one of the three new episodes of House left this season. My husband and I sat down to watch while the replay started to record it. Not 5 minutes into the episode we lost power at our house due to high winds. I was not a happy camper and now I have to wait till next week for it to rerun on the USA network. I guess that is how it goes when there is a writers strike going on.

Writers Strike Rumors

I just read over at TVgasm that the strike is rumored to be over by this Friday. Since I have not been reading anything other than local news today.  I do not know this first hand but, read it over at TVgasm. I am hoping that it is true and not someone jumping the gun and just speculating. I know I will be happy if it is true.

Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles

A friend of ours had recommended that we watch this show. Well lucky for us it was on last night and it was a repeat of the pilot episode. My husband and i actually liked the show.  Now most of the time I am very unsure of shows based on friends recommendations. I was not this time.   Most of the time their idea of a good show is far different from mine and the hubby's It was a good recommendation from our friends.

Kiefer out of Jail

Well, it looks like Kiefer is out of Jail today. Now if only we could settle the writers strike and get Season 7 of 24 sometime in the near future. I look forward to my Monday Night Kiefer fix.

Blockbuster Movies

Last summer my husband and I signed up for blockbuster total access. After using it for a while now I still have mixed reviews about them. First of all I like the fact that there are different levels of membership. However, I do not like the wait time for some movies that we want to see. On more than one ocassion I have had to rearrange my movie que to get a specific movie that I want to see. I have also had to send movies back that would not play in my dvd player for one reason or another. I have also had to send movies back where the DVD was not playable because of cracks or scratches on it. I do like that if you get a bad DVD that you can login to your blockbuster account and report the dvd issue and have them immediately send you the dvd again before you return the damaged one. In short I still think that there are more things that I like about them than I dislike. You can also return DVD's to local blockbuster if you choose that membership level.

Directors Strike Deal

The directors of studios have struck a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television. Now if only the writers and studios can strike a deal. I for one am tired of watching reruns when the season has barely started.

Rent

Well, it looks like the 7th longest running Broadway musical will be ending it's 12 year run soon. I have not seen the Broadway musical version but, I have seen the movie and really liked it. It was only after I saw the movie that I learned that it was a rock version of La Boheme. It would be nice to see the Broadway version before it ends its 12 year run.

Writers Strike

Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. I really do not remember the previous writers strike in the late 80's taking this long to resolve. I personally hope that the writers and studios can come to an agreement soon. There is only so long I can watch reruns of shows and not get tired of them.

Lost Boys 2

So I was surfing the message boards for my favorite Kiefer Sutherland show and I find out that they are filming a sequel to my Favorite Kiefer movie. Anyway, the more I read the more intrigued I am that we get a sequel to Lost Boys. Even though this movie is without Kiefer it is not without a Sutherland. Apparrently Kiefer has a half brother that is in the movie. All I have to say if he got his looks from daddy Donald we are in for another hottie from the family. Just wish that there was a photo of him on his imdb autobiography.
